bryan little was traded from the expos to the white sox in december of 1984. here is his 1985 o-pee-chee card:
here's the topps front: now the o-pee-chee back:
and the topps back:
notice that the fronts of the cards spell his name 'brian' while the backs use 'bryan'. the backs are correct - his name is richard bryan little. perhaps you've heard of his brother, grady?
bryan was a 5th round draft pick of the dodgers in 1978, but he didn't sign. he was drafted by the expos in the 9th round of the 1980 draft, and did sign that time. with the white sox in 1985, little hit the last 2 home runs of his career - both in a five day span in late august at comiskey. he split time in 1986, his final season, between the white sox and the yankees. in his final big league game (the last game of the 1986), little went 3 for 4 as a yankee against the rival red sox, the team his brother would eventually manage. speaking of future managers, don mattingly batted lead off in that game.
voici à vous, 1985 bryan little!
