1990 pete o'brien

after one year in cleveland, pete obrien signed as a free agent with the seattle mariners in december of 1989. here is his 1990 o-pee-chee card:

obrien had played in at least 155 games in each of the five seasons preceding the 1990 campaign, but in seattle he wound up missing most of may and half of june due to injury. he managed to hit just .224 with 5 home runs in the 108 games in which he appeared. he bounced back in 1991, however, and hit 17 long balls with 88 rbi in 152 games.

pete obrien was traded in december of 1988 from the rangers to the indians in the julio franco deal. here is his 1989 o-pee-chee card:

in his lone year with the tribe, obrien hit .260 in 155 games. he swatted 12 home runs and drove in 55 while playing his usual solid first base (his fielding percentage was .994). after the season, he became a free agent and signed with the mariners which means another text variation!
