willie mcgee played in just 29 games for the 1990 a's as a late season rental for their post season push. after the season ended, he filed for free agency and signed with the san francisco giants. here's his 1991 o-pee-chee card

and the topps back:
the big story about mcgee's time in oakland was that he hit just .274, lowering his overall season average to .324, six points lower than eddie murray's major league leading .330. however, since mcgee qualified for the batting title when he was still with saint louis, and was batting .335 at the time of his being traded to the a's, he was named the national league batting champion, and dodger fans everywhere revolted.
mcgee rebounded nicely upon his return to the national league, hitting .312 for the giants in 1991. he would play in san francisco for four seasons before heading to boston in 1995 and then back to saint louis for the last 4 seasons of his career.
voici à vous, 1991 willie mcgee!
