after a couple of bad seasons following their 1985 world championship, the royals sent danny jackson to the reds in a november 1987 trade. here's his 1988 o-pee-chee card

jackson responded to the trade by winning 23 games for the reds with a 2.73 era and 15 complete games, including back-to-back 2-hitters against the phillies in early may. only orel hershiser's monster season kept jackson from winning the cy young award. jackson would go on to win his second world series championship with the reds in 1990, although he never again matched his 1988 performance.
