1987 tom nieto

catcher tom nieto was traded from the expos to the twins in early 1987 in the deal that brought jeff reardon to minnesota.  here's his 1987 o-pee-chee card

nieto was with the twins for two seasons, and was actually their primary catcher at the start of the 1987 season before tim laudner took over.  although he didn't appear in the 1987 postseason for the twinkies, he did appear in the 1985 postseason for the cardinals, even starting the game 4 bloodbath in the 1985 nlcs that evened the series at 2 games apiece.  nieto is currently managing the twins' aaa club in rochester, ny.
