1977 roy hartsfield

here's blue jays skipper roy hartsfield's 1977 o-pee-chee card, a luxury afforded only to hartsfield and fellow canadian team manager dick williams
here's the equivalent topps front:
now the o-pee-chee back:
and the topps back:
since hartsfield is the primary person on the topps card, i don't consider this to be a checklist variation.  instead, i gave that distinction to the separate coaches card that appeared in the o-pee-chee set.  you can see, however, that it is a photo variation.

hartsfield began his managerial career in the dodgers' system, and continued there through the 1968 season before being replaced as the spokane indians' manager by tom lasorda. hartsfield also managed in the padres system prior to getting the call to become the blue jays' first manager in 1977. he managed the team for three years, losing over 100 games each year.

voici à vous, 1977 roy hartsfield!
