1977 tug mcgraw

o-pee-chee gave tug mcgraw just the slightest bit more of head room by altering the crop of his photo on his 1977 o-pee-chee card.  they also moved the facsimile auto around.  here is mcgraw's 1977 o-pee-chee card:

mcgraw was 7-3 with 9 saves in 45 games for the phillies in 1977.  in contrast to today's closers, mcgraw had just two saves in which he performed a single inning of work, and one of his saves came via 4-inning appearance.  with a regular season era of 2.62 and a whip of 1.09, mcgraw earned a few mvp votes, finishing 24th overall, and pitched 3 scoreless innings against the dodgers in the nlcs.
