1992 tom candiotti

in december of 1991, tom candiotti signed a free agent deal with the dodgers. here is his 1992 o-pee-chee card:

knuckleballer candiotti had spent just a half of a season in toronto before joining the dodgers where he promptly led the nl in losses with 15. his arrival coincided with the worst season in la dodger history and so those 15 losses included some hard luck ones as candiotti's 3.00 era and 1.18 whip were pretty solid.  still, candiotti wouldn't enjoy a winning season for the dodgers until his final season with the team in 1997.  he then returned to the american league in 1998 and promptly led that league in losses.  it's a hard 'knuck' life, i suppose.
