1983 tom seaver super veteran

tom seaver went full circle in december of 1982 when he rejoined the mets after 6 years in cincinnati with the reds.  here's his 1983 o-pee-chee super veteran card

he certainly was a super veteran by this point in his career.  he had 3 cy young awards, 264 wins and 3137 strikeouts and was pretty much a de facto hall of famer.  his return to new york was disappointing as he went 9 and 14 for the mets in 1983.  he pitched better than that record would indicate, though, with an era of 3.55 and a 1.24 whip.  he would head to the american league in 1984 where he would spend the remainder of his career, but that's a topic for a future o-pee-chee variation post.
