1990 jose alvarez

jose alvarez was drafted by the giants in the 1989 rule v draft.  here is his 1990 o-pee-chee card:

if this card were featured on my other blog, it would fall into the 'final tribute' category because those stats on the back are all she wrote for jose alvarez's major league career.  i'm not sure exactly what happened, but alvarez didn't pitch anywhere in 1990.  he resurfaced in the reds' organization in 1991, spent some time in the toronto minors in 1992 and then disappeared again until 1995 when he re-joined the braves' organization and pitched at aaa.
