the terminator was coming off of a pretty decent year in which he saved 35 games for the expos, although his era was a lofty 3.94 and he gave up more home runs (12) than he had in any previous season. he would go on to save 31 games for the twins in 1987 with a career worst (if you don't count his short stint with the yankees in 1994) era of 4.48 while serving up another career worst 14 taters. still, he finished 8th in the al cy young voting and 11th in the league mvp voting and helped the twinkies win their first world championship. in the world series, he appeared in 4 of the 7 games, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings and recording his lone save in the decisive game 7.
