in january of 1982, the phillies traded their longtime shortstop larry bowa (along with a prospect named ryne sandberg) to the cubs for ivan dejesus. here's bowa's 1982 o-pee-chee card:

bowa played 3 and a half seasons with the cubs, but his better days were left in philadelphia. still, his 'veteran presence' paid off for the cubbies, as bowa was the starting shortstop on the cubs' 1984 nl east championship team. unfortunately for bowa and the cubs, that team that lost to steve garvey's padres in the nlcs. in that series, bowa went 3 for 16 with a double and a rbi.
