it's going to be ted power week here at oh my o-pee-chee. after the 1987 season, power was traded from the reds to the royals in the danny jackson deal. here's his 1988 o-pee-chee card:

now the o-pee-chee back:
and the topps back:
power split his time between the starting rotation and the bullpen during his time with the royals. he went 5-6 with 2 shutouts which came in back to back starts in june. at the end of august, the royals sent him to detroit where he made 4 appearances (2 starts) with 1 win and 1 loss in the tigers' push for the al east title. unfortunately, they came up one game short. after the season, power became a free agent and re-signed with the tigers. however, they released him prior to the end of spring training in 1989, and he was picked up by the saint louis cardinals.
with the cardinals, power would continue his dual role of starter and reliever, winning 7 and losing 7 in 23 appearances.
voici à vous, 1988 ted power!
