the giants traded gary lavelle to the blue jays in january of 1985 for jim gott. here's his 1985 o-pee-chee card:

lavelle, a left-handed reliever, appeared in 69 games for the blue jays in 1985, winning 5 and saving eight as toronto won the american league east for the first time. he made just one appearance in the alcs and walked the only batter (george brett) that he faced. prior to the 1986 season, lavelle underwent tommy john surgery and missed the entire season, plus the first half of 1987. he returned to the blue jays in june of 1987, and appeared in 23 games for them before being released. he was picked up by the a's for the remainder of the season and appeared in his final big league game on october 3 of that year.
