and the topps back:
otis joined the pirates as a free agent after 14 years with kansas city. things started out well, as he had 3 hits in his first 3 games, including 2 doubles, an rbi and 2 runs scored. however, by the time the pirates went home for the home opener, otis was hitting just .172 with an ops of .499. he lost the starting left fielder's job in may and played his final game in early august. despite the poor season in pittsburgh, otis had a good career and was a big part of the royals' late 70's/early 80's powerhouse where they made the postseason 5 out of 6 years.
voici à vous, 1984 amos otis!
