1986 juan beniquez

juan beniquez signed with the orioles as a free agent after the 1985 season. here's his 1986 o-pee-chee card:

this is the second time beniquez has been featured here, although i got the sequencing screwed up. if i had been thinking, i would have pulled a frank tanana. anyway, beniquez joined the orioles just as they were headed in the opposite direction as the angels. they wound up in 7th place in the al east in 1986 while the angels won the west. still, beniquez hit .300 for baltimore in a sort of super-utility role, playing all three outfield positions as well as first, third and dh. the highlight of his season had to have been on june 12th when he hit 3 home runs in a single game against the yankees.
