having touched on every year from the inception of o-pee-chee baseball cards through 1992, we're back to where the variations began, 1971.  from here we'll move one at a time through the variations until we're done.  i'll do a different year each day just to mix it up.

mike would last about 2 years in chicago before being released. he was picked up by the a's in 1973, just in time to join them in a world series victory over the mets.
