1992 mariano duncan

mariano duncan signed a free agent deal with the phillies in december of 1991. here is his 1992 o-pee-chee card:

duncan, who missed out on the dodgers' 1988 world championship as a result of being in tommy lasorda's doghouse and spending the entire season in the minors, wound up playing in three world series. he won a ring with the 1990 reds and the 1996 yankees, and was on the 1993 phillies team that lost to the blue jays. for the phillies in 1992, duncan matched his career high with 142 games played and set a personal best with 153 hits and 40 doubles. he also struck out 108 times. in the '93 world series, duncan hit .345 with 10 hits, 5 runs scored, and 3 steals. much better than the 3 for 33 mark that he posted in his other two fall classic appearances combined.
