don slaught was part of the four-team trade in january of 1985 that also involved danny darwin and jim sundberg. for his part, slaught went from the royals to the rangers. here is his 1985 o-pee-chee card:

slaught replaced the donnie scott/ned yost platoon that had existed in texas in 1984 and resulted in 9 homers and a batting average of around .190. in his 102 games in 1985, slaught hit .280 with 8 homers. slaught caught for the rangers until they traded him to the yankees following the 1987 season.
