o-pee-chee went for the stacked and angled look with dan(ny) meyer's facsimilie auto. here is meyer's 1977 o-pee-chee card:here's the topps front:

and the topps back:
i'm too lazy to look it up, but i recall dan meyer thanks to 'one in a million, the ron leflore story'. sports illustrated was supposedly writing a piece on leflore and meyer, but when the magazine came out, leflore was not included leading to some disappointment on his part. not sure if that part made it into the movie, though. it's been 30 years since i've seen it.
anyway, meyer was selected by the mariners with the 9th pick in the 1976 expansion draft and was installed as their everyday first baseman. he played in 159 games during their inagural 1977 season, posting a line of 22/90/.273. here's a fun fact - meyer drove in the first run in mariners' history with a double in their third game.
voici à vous, 1977 dan meyer!
