dave collins was traded from the blue jays to the a's after a good two-year run in toronto. here's his 1985 o-pee-chee card:

collins continued his tour of the american league with a single-season stop in oakland in 1985. he played left field exclusively that season, appearing in 112 games. on july 4th, collins hit a game winning, walk-off single against the blue jays, but on the whole he hit just .251 and stole 29 bases for the a's who would send him to detroit after the season ended.

ReplyDeleteTony - he's up there, and there's another one comimg tomorrow. When I first started this, I guessed bobby bonds, but collns, matt young and manny trillo have all passed him (so far). Tony perez and joe morgan might get up there eventually as well.
