1984 tony bernazard

in december of 1983, less than 6 months after they acquired tony bernazard from the white sox expos, the mariners sent him to cleveland for jack perconte and gorman thomas.  here is bernazard's 1984 o-pee-chee card:
here's the topps front:
now the o-pee-chee back:
and the topps back:
bernazard began his tenure with the indians on a hot streak - he was hitting .390 after the first three weeks of the season, and then he went on an 0 for 44 streak that sent his average below .200 in a matter of days.  he wound up hitting .221 on the season, but would turn in much better statistics in the following two seasons for the indians.  cleveland eventually traded bernazard to the a's during the 1987 season, and then he spent 1988-1990 playing in japan.  after a brief comeback with the tigers in 1991, bernazard retired.  he most recently was a member of the mets' front office, but was fired last year after exhibiting some bizarre behavior.

voici à vous, 1984 tony bernazard!
