thomasson had split his 1978 season between oakland and new york. he was 1 for 4 against the dodgers in the 1978 world series, but there were apparently no hard feelings. thomasson spent most of his playing time in 1979 in center field although he also played the other outfield positions as well as a bit of first base for the dodgers. in 115 games, he hit 14 home runs and had a .248 average. he played for the dodgers again in 1980 and then went to japan where he was made the highest paid player in the league by the yomiuri giants.
voici à vous, 1979 gary thomasson!
