1977 chris speier

chris speier got a variation in the 1977 o-pee-chee set, but it's not the cool kind, unfortunately.  here's his 1977 o-pee-chee card:

sure o-pee-chee moved his autograph around, but if they had waited a bit longer before printing, we could have had a team and/or a text variation.  that's because speier was traded by the giants to the expos in april of 1977.  speier played in montreal until the 1984 season when the expos traded him to the cardinals on july 1.  a few weeks later, speier was dealt to the twins and then became a free agent after the season.  he was rewarded with a fantastically airbrushed 1985 topps card, but was left out of the o-pee-chee set.  that's ok, even though he signed with the cubs in april of 1985, since it was too late for o-pee-chee to make a variation anyway.
