terry kennedy was traded from the padres to the orioles in october of 1986. here is his 1987 o-pee-chee card:
here's the topps front: now the o-pee-chee back:
and the topps back:
kennedy spent just two seasons with the orioles before heading back to the national league west, but in his first year in baltimore, he hit 18 home runs and was named to the all-star team. he started the game for the american league, and caught the first six innings before giving way to matt nokes.
kennedy's dad, bob kennedy, played for a bunch of teams in the 50's before becoming a manager (or head coach as the cubs called it), and kennedy is trying to follow in his footsteps by managing in the minor leagues. he is currently managing in the padres' system.
voici à vous, 1987 terry kennedy!
