durham put together some good seasons for the cubs, playing outfield until he was moved to 1st base for the 1984 season. durham drove in a career high 96 runs that year, but is better known for his fielding error that allowed the padres to tie the score in the decisive 5th game of the nlcs. durham was traded to the reds during the 1988 season and then finished his career with a short stint in 1989 back in saint louis where his career began.
