1990 cecilio guante

cecilio guante signed as a free agent with the cleveland indians for the 1990 season. here is his 1990 o-pee-chee card:

in what would be the final season of his career, guante appeared in 26 games and made his lone career start. it just so happened that the final game of his career was also the only game in which he was the starting pitcher - it was the second game of a july doubleheader against the yankees. guante lasted 3+ innings and gave up 4 runs, including 2 homeruns in taking the loss. one of the homeruns was a leadoff shot by roberto kelly, and the other was a solo shot to deion sanders. guante was released a couple of weeks later, and, although he signed a deal with the red sox shortly thereafter, he never pitched in the big leagues again.
