and the topps back:
what a difference a year made for goltz. in 1976, he was 14-14 with a 3.36 era. in 1977, he again posted an era of 3.36, but had a win-loss record of 20-11 in a league-leading 39 starts. his performance was good enough for 6th in the league cy young voting and it assured him a place on the 1978 topps league-leaders card for wins. goltz had 19 complete games to his credit, including an 11-inning performance, but his best performance of the season came on august 23rd when he shut out the red sox on one hit while striking out 10.
voici à vous, 1977 dave goltz!
