jack clark was traded to the cardinals in february of 1985. but you knew that because it's all there on his 1985 o-pee-chee card:

clark had a devastatingly good 1985 season. he helped the cardinals get to the playoffs and then, with first base open, killed the dodgers with a game winning home run in game 6. he wound up hitting only .240 in the world series, however, and the cardinals lost to the royals in 7 games. i believe clark was the one who fed the throw to todd worrell to lead off the 9th in game 6 that resulted in jorge orta being called safe. and the rest is history. while the cardinals won the title in 1987, clark was limited to a lone pinch-hit performance in the nlcs (he struck out) that year.
