o-pee-chee decided to move dennis eckersley's facsimilie auto from the blue sky to his lower torso for some reason.  here is his 1977 o-pee-chee card:

and the topps back:
1977 was eckersley's third big league season and his last with the indians.  he won 14 games and was named to the all-star team for the first time.  in the game, eck pitched two perfect innings and struck out the last batter he faced in the game - steve garvey.  late in spring training 1978, eckersley was traded to the red sox and he went on to win 20 games for the bosox that year.

voici à vous, 1977 dennis eckersley!

  1. And the sad reality for Indian fans is the trade had nothing to do with baseball. Eckersley and his wife were roommates with Rick Manning. Manning got hurt and was at home while Eck was off on road trips. Manning and Eck's wife were home alone..... and the Indians then had to trade one of them.
